A car showroom where you can spin and recolour the car in the browser

A concept site for a premium car dealer. We built it from the dealer’s public information, without a commission, to show what their website could be. We do not show the dealer’s name.

Concept for a car dealer

The challenge

The dealer sells mostly through Instagram, and the website does little to help sales. Someone buying an expensive car wants to look at it before calling: colour, wheels, cabin. We wanted to show that a website can do this better than a photo feed, and bring enquiries to the sales manager.

What we built

  • A Porsche 911 Turbo S in 3D with its cabin: you can rotate it, zoom in and look inside
  • Wave recolouring: the new colour sweeps across the body, with paint and reflections as in a studio
  • The first-screen film is rendered in Blender (Cycles) at 1440p; phones get a vertical version
  • Quality adapts to the device: a lighter model on integrated graphics and phones, the full one on a powerful graphics card
  • A catalogue of cars in stock with filters and a car page; an admin panel for photos, parsing Instagram captions and translations
  • Every form sends an enquiry to the manager in Telegram

What it looks like

A white Porsche 911 in a studio, side view – a frame from the Blender film
A frame from the first-screen film: light and reflections calculated in Blender.
Wave recolouring: the front of the Porsche is already red, the rear still white
Wave recolouring – it works the same way in the 3D configurator.
A red Porsche 911 from the side on a reflective floor
The new colour: paint, highlights and the floor reflection.
Close-up of a Porsche 911 wheel and yellow caliper
Close-up: wheels and calipers change in the configurator.

Frames from the first-screen film. We show the site and configurator on a call: the concept was made for a real dealer without a commission.

What this could do for your business

  • Customers look at the product before calling and arrive with a choice already made
  • The manager updates the catalogue without a programmer
  • The site looks premium and still opens fast on a phone
